Job Description: Represent the University at college fairs, high schools, and other recruitment events in assigned territory. Review freshman undergraduate applications for admission as assigned. Participate in all on-campus recruitment activities. Develop solid networking relationship with high school counselors. Maintain communication with prospective students and families utilizing coaching techniques. Research and implement outreach and recruitment best practices for assigned territory.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree or bachelor's degree with experience equivalent to a master's degree (undergraduate experience may be used to meet the educational requirement) in Communications, English, Business, Counseling, or a related discipline. Some prior related experience. Successful experience in marketing or customer service and higher education or admissions. Related experience working with student organizations or serving as a tour guide. Knowledge of terminology used in admission. Knowledge of (or ability and willingness to learn) student financial assistance programs and Higher Education processes. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Some knowledge of expenditure tracking and accepted fiscal practices, procedures, and policies. Excellent communication and public speaking skills are required. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop relationships and rapport with students and their families. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to enter data quickly and accurately into a database. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and treat confidential matters with tact and discretion. Ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective students and the public. Strong oral and written communication skills. Additional Considerations:
Ability to manage several tasks/responsibilities at one time.
