Our client is a privately held growing, financially stable, leading New York-area government contractor. Our client’s focus is in providing Construction and Information Technology (IT) Services for city, state and federal government clients.

We currently have an immediate need for a

Construction Document Control Specialist

to work on construction project team for a dedicated New York City agency. The role will provide support to the Project Management team by maintaining accurate project documentation and information. The role assists the Document Controls Manager in managing the document control system and serves as the controller of documents exchanged between Contractors, Suppliers and team,members. The role provides document management reporting as required.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in Document Control on construction projects. Strong Microsoft SharePoint expertise with an eye for detail and accuracy and excellent communication and collaboration skills is required. Prior experience working on construction project teams with a government agency highly desirable.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Download and upload documents (correspondence, drawings, drawing reviews and all project documents) to the company's Electronic Document Management System (eBuilder and Aconex). Ensure document quality and compliance to established standards and policies. Drive use of platforms and solutions approved for project use on the Project. Route documents to various stakeholders for approval or for information.

Maintain project documents in the company's Construction Management system (Procore).

Assist project managers in the collection and preparation of required project documents.

Establish comprehensive document controls that improve project collaboration and simplify complexity.

Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to ensure all relevant documentation is produced and supplied in compliance with established document control requirements. Monitor document and information quality related to format, classification, organization and version.

Facilitate document translation activities as required.

Provide service excellence in support of the client, project team members, Project Managers, Project Controls Manager, Document Control Manager and Project Stakeholders.

Report performance on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis as required.

Partner with IT regarding Document Control issues, including software updates /enhancements and develop technology or software recommendations that improve Document Control.

Help drive consistent implementation and procedural applications of standard project document control practices.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

Degree in Construction, Project Management, Business or closely related field.

5+ years of relevant Construction Project Document Control experience

Expertise in Microsoft SharePoint required. Experience with Electronic Data Management Systems (EDMS) such as eBuilder and Aconex.

Prior experience with Construction Management platforms such as Procore, Kahua or Primavera strongly .

Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple project document needs.

Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills with team members, colleagues and management. Able to interface, communicate and build relationships with team members and work as a trusted construction professional.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Understanding of government agencies' practices, processes and standards.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. The company will not sponsor individuals for employment visas for this job at this time.

POSITION LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Hybrid role with 3 days / week in-office in New York, NY. Must be able to commute into New York City to work onsite.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS INFORMATION:

Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000, commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications. All candidates who accept an offer must pass a drug screen test and background check.
