Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We're Looking For: Are you a space enthusiast with a passion for cutting-edge technology and a desire to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry? We have an exciting opportunity for you! Iridium is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Network Systems. As a Senior Manager, Network Systems, you'll be responsible for managing multiple activities and people, including those with cross-functional teams, to keep the EMSS gateway running smoothly. You'll bring enthusiasm about leading and mentoring your direct reports in the technical/contractual responsibilities to support the program. This position requires an active/current Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). What You'll Do: Foster and develop a highly effective team of technical support for Standard Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG), Information Assurance and Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA), and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACCAS) implementation to keep the cyber security status current and all equipment operational

Mentor and train your team by performing regular check-ins, discussing career growth opportunities, giving constructive feedback, and managing conflict when necessary Work independently to make sure development projects align with the cyber security directives outlined by the government, to insure sucessful integration into the gateway Responsible for customer satisfaction of contracted work Ensure trouble tickets are addressed in a timely manner Deliver contract data requirement lists and ensure the performance work statement is followed accurately and on time Coordinate and schedule installation, security auditing, STIG and IAVA changes, initial testing, customer acceptance testing and legacy equipment removal Possess a breadth of knowledge on government contracts, Iridium ground equipment and cyber security requirements

What You'll Need to Succeed: Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree 10+ years of relevant experience in the satellite ground system operations, preferably in support of government contracts Previous management experience required Capable of being a strong motivator and source of direction for your team and role modelling commitment to your team's goals Have a people-oriented mentality and be able to build meaningful relationships with the customer, line of business, senior leadership and in other departments Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques Be able to analyze and understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions, come up with and evaluate unique solutions, and see those solutions through to completion Be independent and self-motivated and demonstrate a high degree of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness Have a strong sense of urgency in driving projects to completion and be motivated to achieve outcomes and results Can thrive in a dynamic environment and efficiently manage multiple or complex projects while continuously looking for new and enhanced ways of doing things

Things That Would be

if You Brought to the Table: Degree or certifications in cyber security Knowledge and experience with low earth orbit satellite communications systems Telecommunications, GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) in particular Project management skills Familiarity with fulfilment of government contracts The ability to multiplex effectively between high priority tasks

Work Environment: This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. At times, this role will require helping the team on installations, which may require climbing and using power/hand tools. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer.
