Location: Calumet School School Nurse - RN Fulltime 2024-2025 School Year
Position Purpose Under the general supervision of the Director of Special Education, to provide and maintain the District's student health service program. Participate and supervise health assistance, medical review, development and implementation of 504 accommodation plans and all student health services.
Equipment Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Works cooperatively with staff to accomplish students' IEP goals and medical needs. • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. • Ability to organize and coordinate work. • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. - Maintain records and submit required state reports accurately.
Qualifications Profile
BSN, licensed as a registered professional nurse in the State of Illinois Illinois Professional Educator License with a School Nurse Endorsement IDPH Certification for Vision, Hearing, Spinal Screening Technician preferred Education BSN Degree
Experience Successful prior School Nurse experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
