IT Lab Computing Support Specialist

Shift Schedule: This is a 24/7 operation, requiring a flexible schedule. The role primarily involves night and weekend shifts, which may include overnight hours (e.g., 6 PM-4 AM or 8 PM-6 AM). Flexibility is essential, and candidates may also be required to be on call.

Must Have List 1+ years of IT hardware troubleshooting 1+ years of software installation and troubleshooting 6+ months of network configurations and troubleshooting 1+ years of experience in a technical support role Associate's degree and/or relevant IT certification(s) acquired within the last 5 years Note: A high school diploma and experience will not qualify. Candidates must have at least an Associate's degree or a relevant IT certification (within the past 5 years) along with experience.

We are seeking a dedicated

IT Benchtop Support Specialist

to join our team. This role is critical for providing comprehensive support in laboratory IT environments, which are essential to our

client's

Cell Therapy Operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting both software and hardware systems connected to laboratory instruments, managing user access, and ensuring the seamless operation of lab computing systems.

Flexibility to work nights and weekends is required.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support for laboratory IT environments, including operating systems, desktop hardware, peripherals, and instrument-controlled software. Manage the onboarding, retirement, and relocation of lab equipment and computers. Implement and monitor Windows-based security measures, including user/group permissions, file/folder permissions, group policies, and local security policies. Act as the primary technical support contact for instrument vendors, facilitating repairs and troubleshooting instrument-related computer issues. Escalate complex issues to

client

infrastructure teams as necessary. Provide technical support for new system validations and change management efforts. Create and maintain a physical inventory of lab equipment, PCs, software, and other specified information. Handle user access management tasks, such as adding or modifying user roles and resetting passwords. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work practices meticulously to ensure compliance with GMP requirements. Provide Audit Trail Reports as needed. Qualifications

Experience:

Previous experience in IT support, particularly in a laboratory or research environment, is highly desirable. Technical Skills:

Proficiency in managing Windows operating systems and desktop hardware with the ability to resolve complex IT issues. Security Knowledge:

Strong understanding of Windows-based security, including user/group permissions and local security policies. Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Flexibility:

Ability to work nights, weekends, and provide 24/7 support as required. Problem-Solving:

Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately. Education:

A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Additional Information
