Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of addiction and recovery processes, providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating therapeutic interventions to promote recovery and improve the overall well-being of clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate the severity of substance use and related issues.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic evaluations and clinical counseling techniques.
• Provide crisis intervention services to clients in acute distress or experiencing substance-related emergencies.
• Utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help clients identify and change maladaptive behaviors associated with substance use.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within hospital settings to ensure holistic care for patients.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on behavioral health, coping strategies, and relapse prevention.
• Offer support for clients dealing with PTSD through specialized care approaches tailored to their needs.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

Experience

• Must have an active MD license (ADT, CSC-D,CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC)
• A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in substance abuse counseling or behavioral health settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and patient assessment methodologies is essential.
• Knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy principles and practices is a plus.
• Experience working within hospital environments or similar healthcare settings is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with clients are crucial for success in this role.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Pay depends on license and experience.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Work Location: In-person
