Responsibilities

Description:

The Staff Accountant role is an integral part of the accounting function at SOP and will be responsible for multiple facets of the month end close including journal entry preparation and related reconciliation activities. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the team to ensure proper accounting and GAAP reporting for all practices. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual with experience in accounting in a service-based business to join an entrepreneurial environment and assist in the establishment of a solid accounting team supporting a high-growth company.

  • Work closely with the Accounting, Treasury, and AP teams to ensure proper accounting and reporting at each of the Company's practices.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliation for assigned areas for multiple locations, including but not limited to cash, accrued and prepaid expenses.
  • Support M&A processes, including opening balance sheet accounting and integration activities.
  • Utilize accounting software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Actively develop positive and collaborative relationships across departments, assisting with financial information requests and questions.
  • Performs special projects or other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
  • 0-3+ years of general accounting experience
  • Proven knowledge of GAAP and strong internal control environment
Preferred Requirements:
  • Active CPA license or working toward CPA license
  • Experience or exposure to Multi-site Healthcare
