Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

LHH is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join our client's energy accounting team in a hybrid remote working environment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial information, with a specific focus on financial reporting and analysis within the upstream oil and gas sector.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights that drive operational efficiency and maintain financial stability. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial accounting, particularly in upstream oil and gas, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record monthly accounting entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP.
• Collaborate with internal departments to provide accounting information that supports business decision-making and strategic initiatives.
• Review and prepare monthly accruals and actuals to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of financial accounting/reporting experience, with at least 3 years in the upstream oil and gas industry.
• Previous financial reporting or public accounting experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Detail-oriented with an exceptional ability to maintain accuracy and adhere to deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and take leadership on initiatives.

Pay Details: $125,000.00 to $135,000.00 per year
