Trauma Therapist

The Trauma Therapist will provide service through various program and administrative activities for Journey Center for Safety and Healing and provide individual, group, and telehealth therapy services to adult or child victims of child abuse and/or domestic violence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide mental health services including, but not limited to, diagnostic assessments, individual behavioral health therapy, group behavioral health therapy and telehealth therapy
- Conduct education programs for clients
- Provide information, referral, and helpline services
- Participate in education and training programs and workshops for community organizations
- Maintain program/case records
- Maintain current licensure in the state of Ohio
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, group and individual supervisions
- Represent the Journey Center for Safety and Healing in public speaking engagements, education, and training programs
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings as needed
- Respect, understand, and promote Journey Center's mission, values, and goals
- Complete agency orientation and training(s) to meet job requirements
- Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling required
- Must have LSW or PC or be LSW or PC eligible; LISW or PCC preferred
- Experience in providing individual therapy to children and adults
- Knowledge and use of various evidence based treatment and education methodologies
- Ability to write required reports/materials and willing to participate in a team process
- Must continue to meet educational and/or licensure requirements
- Must have strong interpersonal skills
- Must have and maintain a valid Ohio driver's license with appropriate insurance coverage; Must maintain appropriate driving record
- Advanced interviewing skills
- Ability to identify consumer needs and develop an ISP to address the needs
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to recognize symptoms of mental illness and trauma
- Respectful of client rights and confidentiality
- Sensitivity to working with diverse cultures and language abilities
- Computer skills with word processing, database management, e-mail, fax, Windows applications capabilities
- Commitment to child abuse and domestic violence prevention
- Thorough knowledge of rules, regulations, functions, procedures, organization, and policies governing the operations of Journey Center for Safety and Healing
- Experience in and commitment to building and supporting trauma informed organizations committed to equity, inclusion, and advocacy
- Maintain a positive attitude
