Location: Chesterfield, MO
Position Type: Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Employment Type: Contract

Position Summary
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic accounting team in the financial services industry. You'll play an essential role in supporting the financial integrity of reinsurance companies, ensuring accurate and timely reporting while developing key skills in accounting and financial analysis.

Compensation

• Up to $30/hour

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing monthly financial statements for assigned reinsurance companies
• Recording month-end journal entries and performing reconciliations
• Analyzing financial data and generating reports
• Assisting with data entry and other tasks to support the team
• Collaborating with the accounting team to ensure accuracy in financial reporting
• Participating in financial audits and other related activities
• Maintaining accurate records and files for future reference

What You'll Need to be Considered

• Be able to do the job as described
• Recent accounting degree or equivalent experience
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Experience with insurance or reinsurance accounting is a plus
