Academic Advisor III
This position is dedicated to advancing student success initiatives for Pitt Business, focusing on fostering academic achievement, engagement, and career readiness. The staff member will be responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing programs that support students' academic and personal growth. They will work collaboratively with faculty, advising, and career development teams to identify opportunities for improvement, promote student engagement, and provide resources to enhance students' educational experience. This role requires a commitment to student-centered practices, strong organizational skills, and the ability to inspire and guide students as they progress through their academic journeys.
Job SummaryUtilizes expert-level advising knowledge, theory, and experience to serve as an academic liaison for students to identify academic and career goals, select appropriate courses, and plan for degree attainment. Leads the facilitation and implementation of University-sponsored activities. Manages large, complex projects.
Essential FunctionsIndividual will serve as an Academic Advisor in the College of Business Administration (CBA). Individual's time will be devoted to academic and career advising and other duties as assigned, special projects, and professional development. Advising responsibilities will include meeting with undergraduates in the College of Business Administration. The advisor is responsible for meeting with students several times each year to help them create academic plans, register for classes, and to review general information about degree requirements. The advisor will discuss and facilitate career-related work experiences (in the context of the student's development as a business professional), internships, resume development, study abroad plans, and to address any other issues that affect a student's academic performance and career goals.
