Do you want your internship to be meaningful and full of real impactful tasks? This internship has the purpose to help one more child spend one less day alone. We are looking for someone who is highly self-motivated, has a strong sense of urgency, takes the initiative, is solution-driven, and has the ability to make things happen. When you join the HALO family, you are surrounded by a group of passionate individuals who want to see you succeed and grow in your internship.
The Volunteer Management Intern will work with the HALO COO, Senior Operations Manager, Jefferson City Director and Operations Coordinator and will be a part of all volunteer management efforts for the HALO headquarters and HALO branches. This position will be for at least 10 hours a week at HALO Headquarters in Kansas City. This intern will report to the Operations Coordinator.
Make an impact working with local homeless youth while using your own creativity!

Qualifications
Candidates for this Internship must exhibit strong organizational and communication skills. Also be able to work well in a team atmosphere, highly motivated, enjoy brainstorming, and take the initiative on all projects.
Needs to have access to a laptop and reliable internet. Needs to be efficient in Google Suites or Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint. Knowledge of Canva is a plus. Training provided on all other programs. Please note this is an unpaid internship; however this an excellent opportunity to gain a variety of experience in the nonprofit sector.

- Sending new volunteers thank you cards and communication
- Supporting volunteer appreciation events and incentives
- Data entry for volunteer experience journey
- Support volunteer orientations
- Record and take pictures of volunteers in action
- Maintain volunteer outreach efforts to recruit volunteers
- Research and lead volunteer/internship fair opportunities for HALO branches
- Research and grow volunteer appreciation efforts for HALO branches
- Add training materials for volunteers on Better Impact
- Support group volunteers and processes for HALO branches
- Support HALO tours and volunteer speaking opportunities
- Work alongside marketing team to produce impactful marketing materials for website and social media
- Communicate with volunteers to set them up for success
- Create and manage volunteer opportunities on volunteer management software, Better Impact
- Reach out to inactive volunteers to re-engage
- Update and track hours on Better Impact
- Communicate and update HALO team when volunteers are supporting
- Gather feedback and support volunteer audit
