Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Every Other Weekend required
Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 2 years of stepdown/medical-surgical experience required
License: Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
Must-Have: Experience with cardiology, telemetry, ventricular assist device (VAD), and EPIC is highly preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Associate Degree in Nursing considered with relevant experience or active matriculation in a BSN Program.
Job Description:
- Deliver patient care by incorporating principles of Relationship Centered Care, applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management.
- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating to others as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate the effective allocation of material resources.
- Role model professional care practices, including Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding.
- Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and families.
- Use evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patients' perceptions of care.
- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying barriers and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies.
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and coordinate with leadership to ensure sufficient supplies and inventory for patient care.
- Document accurately and thoroughly, in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements and standards of care.
- Contribute to the environment of care to support clinical colleagues, patients, their families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in professional development, encouraging a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, life-long learning, and innovation.
