Job Description : The Associate Director of Development will work in tandem with the Director of Organizational Advancement and the Director of Development to develop, plan, design and implement fundraising and community outreach strategies in support of the mission of partner agencies of the Wingspan Care Group, with a primary focus on partner agency, Applewood Centers.

The Associate Director will serve as the primary development staff for Wingspan's partner agency, Applewood Centers, while working on behalf of all Wingspan agencies as necessary. In addition to the management and growth of traditional development efforts (annual and personal solicitation campaigns, major gifts program, estate planning program and stewardship), the Associate Director will work closely with the Division Director on strategic priorities such as board development and engagement, community engagement and marketing efforts. Building and growing the philanthropic base for Applewood Centers is a priority for this role.

Within the confines of an approved division budget and in close coordination with the Director of Organizational Advancement, the Associate Director of Development is responsible for the following essential job functions:

Serve as primary Development staff for Wingspan partner, Applewood Centers:

In coordination with the Director of Organizational Advancement, develop and oversee implementation of a comprehensive charitable giving plan for Applewood Centers. Plan to include stewardship and recognition programs, major gifts and strategies to grow donor and dollar base for annual campaign. Recommend and track goals and metrics to ensure annual growth of agency annual campaigns to ensure philanthropic support of operations; With the Director of Organizational Advancement, staff the Applewood Centers Development Committee of the Board of Directors. Increase the base amount of charitable dollars donated and the public profile of the Agencies by organizing, supporting and implementing special events. Staff special events.

Working with the Director of Organizational Advancement and Director of Marketing and Communications, develop annual reports for Wingspan agencies to ensure timely creation and dissemination; Work closely with the Director of Organizational Advancement to identify prospects for personal solicitations and major gift solicitations; Working closely with the Division Director on Wingspan strategic initiatives to support the priorities of the partner agencies including, but not limited to, efforts to engage key stakeholders and marketing initiatives to referral entities. Draft grant requests as needed; Understand the priorities of each WCG agency and identify agency programs in need of philanthropic support and work to secure support for those initiatives either through operating support or temporarily restricted funds; As directed by the Director of Organizational Advancement, represent the agency at activities of community partners. Utilize technologies to support activities of the Development Division including entry of donations into database and acknowledgement processing as needed; Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client's treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of Bachelor's Degree plus relevant work experience. Licensure: None Skills:

Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. Ability to think collaboratively and strategically, recognize opportunities and prioritize them to attain goals. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills Effective interpersonal skills. Practical and creative problem solving skills. Familiarity with donor database software Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes and abilities. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in fundraising or institutional advancement. Other: Travel and work evenings or weekends as necessary.
