Description
The Senior Buyer will play a critical role in managing procurement activities for medical devices, ensuring that the company maintains high standards of quality and compliance while optimizing cost and efficiency. This position requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the medical device industry.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase Order Management:
- Create, process, and track purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Monitor PO status and address discrepancies or delays in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
- Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability of medical device components and materials.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and performance reviews, addressing any issues or opportunities for improvement.
- Purchasing Strategy:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals and market trends.
- Cost Analysis:
- Conduct cost analysis and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all purchased materials comply with regulatory standards and internal quality requirements.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and manage supply chain efficiencies.
- Market Research:
- Stay informed on industry trends, new technologies, and market pricing to inform purchasing decisions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to support product development and ensure timely supply of materials.
- Reporting and Metrics:
- Prepare and present procurement reports and metrics to senior management, providing insights on spending trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably within the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards in the medical device sector (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA regulations).
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, expert in Excel. Strong knowledge of ERP systems and data management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
