BronxWorks is hiring one (1) Accountant for the Admin Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the month-end close process including preparation of journal entries
- Prepare bank reconciliation statements monthly
- Prepares daily cash transaction journal entries
- Reviews and reconciles balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
- Assists grant accountants in providing information to funders
- Employs appropriate follow up to fully and completely resolve outstanding fiscal issues as they arise
- Works on special projects and perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with knowledge of Not-for-profit accounting.
- Strong analytical and technical skills and keen attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize work flow
- Ability to initiate, prioritize and complete tasks
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Experience using Intacct software
- At least 4 years of related experience
- Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary
- Working knowledge of ADP Payroll, ADP Reporting and ADP Workforce Now.
- Familiar with payroll practices and procedures, local, state and federal laws
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required.
