Job Description: Graduate Resident - Students Ministry

Location - Any Campus
The Crossings Graduate Resident (GR) program is designed to provide pastoral experience for individuals who feel they are called to full-time, vocational ministry. Graduate Residents work through a development plan to strengthen spiritual gifts, and gain understanding of the role of a pastor in preparation for a long-term pursuit of vocational ministry.
Specifics of Position
The Graduate Resident will report to a pastor and maintain a dotted line to the pastoral leads for the residency program. This position will also work collaboratively and interact regularly with most departments, staff, and campuses throughout Crossings Community Church as well as Crossings Community Center/Clinic, Crossings Christian School and various vendors, and volunteers as projects are planned and implemented.

Specifics of Position
- As a full-time position the GR will be expected to work days and/or evenings as required by the ministry including Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
- The GR position is a one- or two-year position. An option to renew, retain in a permanent role, or pursue ministry in another setting may be offered at the discretion of the Crossings leadership team. The outcome will be determined by the needs of Crossings as well as the gifts and calling of the GR.
- Experience participating and leading active ministry responsibilities including teaching, planning, recruiting, hosting, and budgeting.
- Development of leadership and ministry gifts through training, experiences, and interactions with key staff and volunteer leaders.
- Opportunities to lead and be led in significant areas of ministry with increasing responsibilities throughout the duration of the residency.
- Participation in training and activities to develop self-awareness, servant leadership, spiritual development, a kingdom-driven attitude, social development, and strategic planning.
- To deeply grow in knowledge, faith, and maturity within a vocational ministry setting as well as experience the complexity of ministry and develop skills of discernment as they serve the church.
- Experience the multiple facets of servant leadership, calling clarification, and ministry preparation from conceptualization to execution to evaluation.
- Have the opportunity to build relationships with ministry staff, volunteers, and participants within the assigned ministry area.
- Have scheduled one-on-one meetings with their supervisor to sharpen gifts and talents and discuss ministry leadership and doctrine.
- Have scheduled one-to-one meetings with the pastoral leads for the residency program. ADD
- Participate in weekly meetings with fellow GRs.
- Be involved with the broad array of church life within Crossings including serving outside the assigned ministry.
- Attend staff chapel, all church staff meetings, team meetings, etc.
- Maintain regular office hours as required by supervisor.
- Make a significant contribution to assigned ministry which may include but is not limited to: administrative duties, leading meetings, writing, teaching, serving on platforms, participating in various programs, etc.
- Assist in maintaining the highest possible ministry standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose Statement, and Core Values of Crossings Community Church (CCC).
- Support the leadership of CCC, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and congregation.
- Attend Crossings on a consistent basis to understand culture, mission and vision.

- Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter of a mile); and be able to lift and carry 25-35-pound parcels for distances of up to 500 feet.
- Able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Possess a current unrestricted driver's license.
- This is a safety sensitive position where the employee holding this position has the responsibility of his/her own safety and the safety of others including minors.
