13 weeks 40 hrs/wk Days Job Title: Computed Technologists (CT) Department/Subsidiary: Imaging Services Effective Date: March 2020 Job Code: 0388 JOB SUMMARY: CT Technologist maintains all standards of the Computed Tomography (CT) area established by the Imaging Department. ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY A. Reports to: Network Imaging Supervisor/Imaging Services Manager B. Supervises: None C. Key Working Relationships: Radiologists, Nursing Units, Radiology Staff, Emergency Department, Cancer Center D. Primary Customer Groups: General Public , Medical Staff, Patients and families E. Age/Population of Patients Served: Neonatal Adolescent Geriatric Pediatric Adult X All Ages Leadership Team First Line Supervisor N/A ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS A. Performs CT examination per policy/procedure B. Demonstrates excellence customer service to internal and external customers C. Supports CT quality assurance programs per ACR regulations D. Follows all CT policy, procedures and practices as defined in department and CT policy manual E. Monitors CT area for safety and utilizes safe radiation practices F. Ensure proper working of all equipment and communicates with appropriate service personnel G. Demonstrates competency of image management utilizing RIS, HIS, PACS and AW workstation H. Demonstrates competency of venipuncture for all ages. I. Maintains required department confidentiality and abides by HIPPA regulations. J. Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments. K. Takes an active role in enhancing ability to carry out job functions through personal and professional/job-related growth, development, and participates in medical center and/or departmental education programs. L. Communicates with and performs duties following the philosophy of MercyOne North Iowa and the Sisters of Mercy reflecting the organization's Mission and Values. M. Supports and abides by all organizational, departmental, and safety policies and procedures. N. Proactively identifies safety concerns surrounding the work environment. O. Performs other responsibilities as requested by supervisor, manager or department director. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS A. None POSITION QUALIFICATIONS A Education [formal]: 1. Must be credentialed in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ( ARRT). Must possess current IDPH Permit to Practice. 2. Must be credentialed in Computed Tomography (CT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 months of hire date. B. Experience: 1. Demonstrated competence in CT preferred. C. Special Skills and Competencies: X Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Provider-American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer-American Red Cross) prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintains current status. X Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status. NA Completes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status. NA Completes Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status. NA Completes Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status. NA Completes MANDT Training within 6 months of hire and maintains current status. NA Completes Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.
