JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE :Technology Integration Coach REPORTS TO:
Chief Technology Officer and Technology Integration Coordinator JOB GOAL:
To facilitate change in instructional technology practices of teachers that will enable teachers to integrate technology into their classroom
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate • Experience with technology professional development for teachers, administrators, and all staff • Ability to lead others in the creative uses of technology in a learning environment • Knowledge of research based best practices in instructional design and student learning assessment for teaching and learning • Knowledge of trends and future directions of technology in the learning environment • Experience with instructional technology with emphasis on curriculum integration • Collaborative skills and experience working effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus • Ability to direct and coach utilizing effective interpersonal and leadership skills • An understanding of the crucial role academic technologies play in education with respect to increasing student access, engagement, and success, and current issues in online learning • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components of local and wide area networks, Internet, intranet, and distributed learning • An understanding of the technical support demands of a Pre K-12 educational environment • Ability to meet suitability criteria under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457 • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as state, federal, and local law and the Board may require
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, mission, goals, and priorities Board Approved 03.13.17 2. Works collaboratively with District and school administrators, teachers, school technology facilitators, media specialists, and instructional coaches assigned to the schools 3. Provides professional development at all schools and District professional development events 4. Creates and facilitates virtual professional development sessions for staff and creates video tutorials to be posted on the District Technology website 5. Assists the school administration and leadership team in the preparation of the annual school technology plan 6. Provides information and guidance on maintaining teacher websites and assists with fostering an understanding of the importance of maintaining a web presence 7. Keeps faculties informed of educational technology training, events, and resources 8. Coordinates parent education regarding technology in conjunction with the local school 9. Stays current in emerging technologies and trends in the field of instructional technology through social media, journals, blogs, and other resources 10. Provides teachers with group and individual technology integration professional development 11. Assists teachers with technology integration in classrooms by modeling instruction, team-teaching, observing, and coaching 12. Plans collaboratively with teachers and instructional coaches to develop a curriculum that integrates technology and encourages appropriate uses of technology in standards-based instruction 13. Assists teachers in administering online diagnostic assessments and using them to plan data-driven instruction 14. Develops and teach workshops on specific District technology hardware and software resources 15. Participates in regular professional development to maintain and increase proficiency with educational technology 16. Attends and participates in department meetings; Works closely as a team with other Technology Integration Coaches, Instructional Coaches, and local building leadership teams to collaborate, organize, plan, and instruct together 17. Works in conjunction with administrators to meet the specific needs of local schools 18. Adheres to local Board policies, administrative procedures, and other like directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws 19. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s)
