Job Responsibilities

With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

Our office is located at the 1135 Gregg Highway, Aiken, SC 29801. This position will primarily deliver services in a School Setting in Aiken County. Job Purpose Under limited supervision, provides evidenced based services (safe, effective and measurable) to promote and support the recovery of persons with mental illness in an Aiken County School setting. Assists in developing and implementing treatment plans. Guides patients in the development of skills or strategies towards achieving and maintaining good mental health. Job Functions Provides 860 patient care hours annually. Ensures patients are seen in accordance with their needs. Completes clinical documentation using collaborative documentation. Ensures patient functionality is measured by the DLA-20. Participates in clinical supervision, treatment team meetings. pursues professional development and demonstrates effective use of social and interpersonal knowledge and skills. Reviews caseload weekly for timely discharges, engagement, transition, and follow-up. Completes documentation according to QA/SCDMH standards, complies with Corporate Compliance policy and Risk Management plan, and ensures timely completion of prior authorizations. Performs other duties as needed. Minimum and Additional Requirements

A Masters' degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences. Agency Minimum Requirements:

A master's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences. Licensed or working toward licensure in South Carolina Must qualify for credentialing and privileging as a Mental Health Professional and in accordance with Quality Assurance standards and concurrence by DMH Office of Quality Managment qualifications. One (1) year of post-graduate experience providing counseling/treatment. Note: If any Agency/Internal Requirements are listed above, applicants must also meet those requirements to be considered for the position. Preferred Qualifications

Agency (Facility) Preferences: Licensed in SC or able to obtain licensure within six months. One (1) year of post-graduate experience providing counseling/treatment. Practical therapeutic knowledge of principles, methods and counseling practices and procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral and mental disorders. Ability to listen and understand and communicate information and ideas. Knowledge of psychopathology, family dynamics, family and group psychotherapy. Ability to identify and effectively utilize resources available in the community to accomplish objectives. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families and representatives of other professional disciplines. Ability to present clear and comprehensive oral and written reports. Employee will be provided routine scheduled supervision by supervisor and participate in monthly consultation groups. Additional supervision provided by Psychiatrist via routine interdisciplinary scheduled staffing meetings. Employee is subject to SCDMH/ABMHC policies/procedures. Ability to lift 5 pounds. Operate a state vehicle (as applicable to position). This position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies. Services will be primarily delivered in a school setting in the North Augusta and Midland Valley areas. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
