Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Aiken Barnwell Mental Health Center (Aiken Office) 1135 Gregg Hwy. Aiken, SC 29801. This position is community based and services will be delivered in RV in both Aiken and Barnwell Counties.
Job Purpose Provide an array of evidence based services (safe, effective, measurable) to support the recovery of individuals diagnosed with mental illness. Assists in developing and implementing treatment plans and guides the patient in the development of skills/strategies towards achieving and maintaining good mental health. Services will be provided in the community as part of the Mobile Mental Health Street Team.
Job Functions
Maintains a bill-time rate of 780 hours annually ensuring patients are seen in accordance with their needs. Completes clinical documentation using collaborative documentation and according to QA/SCDMH Standards. Prior Authorization will be completed as required prior to delivery of services. Ensures patient functionality is measured by the DLA-20. Participates in clinical supervision, treatment team meetings, and pursues professional development (license/training). Reviews caseload weekly for timely discharge, engagement, transition and follow-up. Complies with Corporate Compliance Policy and Risk Management Plan. Performs other duties as needed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications
Agency Preferences:
A Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology and one (1) year post-graduate experience delivering mental health services. Licensed or licensed eligible in SC and willing to pursue licensure with SCLLR. Sound theoretical knowledge of principles, methods, counseling practices and procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral and mental disorders. Ability to listen and understand and effectively communicate information and ideas so that others will understand. Knowledge of psychopathology and psycho-diagnostics and patient management within a psychiatric setting. Some knowledge of basic community resources provided by other public and private agencies. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families and groups. Must have ability to operate a state vehicle to include the RV. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
