Position Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing Sarson Funds’ financial strategy, operations, and compliance. This position requires a dynamic and experienced leader with a strong background in asset management, private equity, or hedge funds, combined with a passion for digital assets and emerging financial technologies.
The CFO will drive financial planning, capital management, risk oversight, and reporting while ensuring the firm's financial practices comply with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement the company's overall financial strategy to support growth and scalability.
Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
Evaluate new investment opportunities and revenue streams to align with Sarson Funds’ strategic goals.
Financial Operations
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, treasury, and fund administration.
Ensure efficient cash flow management and maintain optimal capital structure.
Manage relationships with banks, custodians, auditors, and other financial institutions.
Fund Oversight
Oversee fund accounting, NAV calculations, and investor reporting.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements for private funds and managed accounts.
Collaborate with the investment team to structure and manage new fund launches.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with SEC, CFTC, and other regulatory requirements, including filing Form ADV, Form PF, and other applicable reports (if regulations head that way).
Work closely with legal and compliance teams to monitor and address evolving regulatory developments in digital assets.
Risk Management
Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Implement controls to safeguard assets and ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Investor Relations
Serve as a key liaison with institutional investors, providing financial insights and transparency.
Oversee the preparation of investor reports, fund performance analyses, and financial presentations.
Team Leadership
Build and lead a high-performing finance team to support the company’s growth.
Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the finance department.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in asset management, private equity, or hedge funds.
Strong understanding of financial modeling, fund accounting, and portfolio management.
Experience working with digital assets, blockchain technology, or fintech is highly desirable.
Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including SEC, CFTC, and tax implications for investment funds.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proven track record of managing capital raises and investor relations.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with fund formation, structuring, and compliance in the digital asset space.
Proficiency in financial software and tools, including fund accounting systems.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships with investors, partners, and regulators.
