Job Summary
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking a Transplant Pulmonologist to join a team dedicated to expanding a thriving lung transplant program. This is an opportunity to join a world-class transplant program with more than 500 life-saving lung transplants completed, practice at a nationally ranked academic medical center, and enjoy the resources and reputation of the University of Kentucky, named a Best College by US News - UK HealthCare has been named the No. 1 Hospital in Kentucky for eight consecutive years.
The ideal candidate will be an M.D/ D.O. or equivalent, eligible for a Kentucky Medical License, have completed an accredited Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship, and BE/BC in both Critical Care and Pulmonary Medicine. Lung transplant fellowship or equivalent experience in the care of pre and post lung transplant patients is required. Candidates will be responsible for providing inpatient care for patients in the UK Lung Transplant program, the evaluation of patients for lung transplant listing both inpatient and outpatient, and outpatient post-transplant care.
Candidates will have the opportunity and are encouraged to be involved in the teaching of University of Kentucky medical students, residents, and fellows. There are also opportunities to participate in patient-oriented research in the areas of advanced lung diseases, and lung transplantation. Salaries and academic rank are commensurate with experience.
