Reports To: Transportation Director Job Goal: To provide safe and efficient transportation of students Work Year: 176 student attendance days Work Hours: Morning and afternoon Salary: $51.15 per route Benefits: IMRF provided and 10 sick days/1.5 personal days Performance Responsibilities: • Maintains assigned schedule • Transports only authorized students • Discharges students only at authorized stops • Maintains discipline when students are on bus • Obeys all traffic laws • Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses • Notifies the proper authority in case of equipment failure • Keeps assigned bus clean and fueled • Reports all accidents and complete required reports • Follows all department procedures and policies outlined in handbook
Qualifications or Requirements: Must possess valid Illinois Driver's License with CDL endorsement and Illinois school bus permit & pass criminal background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Able to climb 3 stairs, 3 feet in height, multiple times a day • Ability to open and close school bus door • Ability to get from the driver's seat, down a 12" aisle, to the rear emergency exit door in a "timely manner" • Ability to set and release parking brake at every stop • Able to open and close windows from the inside of the school bus • Ability to exit rear emergency door
