IT Onboarding Administrator
Location: Long Beach, CA

Schedule: Full-Time
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy IT Onboarding Specialist to join our IT department. The primary responsibility of this role is to set up new employees with the necessary hardware, software, and system access, ensuring a smooth onboarding process. This role will be crucial in supporting new hires to get up and running quickly, with all the tools they need to be productive from day one. This position is meant to be entry level and to grow into greater roles as the company grows.
Responsibilities: • User Account Management: Create and manage user accounts across various systems, including Active Directory, communication systems, and other internal platforms. • New Employee Setup: Prepare and configure laptops, desktops, and mobile devices for new hires and vessels, including the installation of operating systems, software, and required applications. • Software Deployment: Install and configure software applications based on departmental needs and job-specific requirements. • Hardware Configuration: Set up and maintain peripheral devices, such as monitors, docking stations, printers, and other hardware as required. • System Access: Ensure new employees have the correct access permissions for all required systems and applications. • Troubleshooting: Provide initial technical support to new employees during the onboarding process to resolve any setup issues they may encounter. • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date records of hardware inventory, software licenses, and user access permissions. • Collaboration: Work closely with the HR department to ensure all new hire requirements are met promptly.
Qualifications • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. • Experience: Proven experience in IT support, system administration, Help desk, or a similar role, with a focus on user setup and system configuration.
Skills: • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems. • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications • Experience with remote support tools (I.E. TeamViewer or JMAF Support Assist). • Certification in CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar. • Experience with Azure Active Directory, Office 365, and other enterprise software. • Familiarity with network configuration.
Working Conditions • May require lifting and transporting computer hardware up to 25 lbs. • Flexibility to work occasionally outside standard business hours if needed.
