Posting Summary Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Data Analyst for the Psychiatry Department at NJMS - Assisted Treatment Center of Excellence. The purpose of the Data Analyst for the Northern New Jersey Medication-Assisted Treatment Center of Excellence is to support the program in developing data-driven decision-making processes. The Data Analyst will be responsible for designing and implementing systems to track program deliverables, ensuring data quality, and contributing to ongoing sponsored projects and opportunities for research. This position requires analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Responsible for data management systems for primary data collection; work with program staff to setup, create, and integrate data collection projects and surveys into workflow of data management. Update and perform data quality control; develop new QC procedures to ensure data integrity; work with program staff to address issues impacting data quality, including but not limited to system issues, data entry errors, and data collection errors. Prepare datasets and provide supporting documentation for statistical analysis. Develop appropriate statistical models to analyze research data, while managing and maintaining datasets. Supervise the deliverables of a team of research assistants, provide guidance, assistance, and coaching support as needed. Ensure research assistants are meeting deliverables and project tasks. Interact with project staff and faculty to analyze study data for technical reports, journal articles, and conference presentations. This may include writing and contributing to publications. Position Status: Full Time Daily Work Shift: Day Work Arrangement: Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree required. Three (3) years of experience in the area of design and analysis of projects. Equivalent experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of data visualization techniques and tools with demonstrated experience in data management and reporting. Must have strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights in non-technical terms. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in a related field, including public health, data science, psychology. Experience in data analysis, preferably in an educational or research setting in the public health field. Physical Demands and Work Environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires standing, walking, sitting, and using hands and arms 2/3 of the time. Talking and hearing are required 2/3 of the time. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Moderate noise office setting. Fast-paced, high-pressure office environment, must be able to cooperate with a broad spectrum of staff.
