Position Description
The Data Analyst/Engineer will play a vital role in identifying and developing the best possible sites to provide low-carbon power to data centers and other large electric loads. The role will identify, quality control, and integrate large data sets at the intersection of the real estate, electricity, and digital infrastructure industries. The Data Analyst, collaborating closely with the Company’s development and GIS team, will then use this data to produce actionable recommendations and insights.
The Data Analyst/Engineer will report to the Chief Technical Officer. It is a full-time position that may require occasional travel.
Key Job Responsibilities
Design, populate, and maintain internal databases on cloud-based data platform (preferably Snowflake)
Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data integration into internal data warehouse from various external sources
Implement data validation process to ensure data quality and accuracy
Leverage scripting languages for automating data cleaning, manipulation, and statistical analysis
Integrate external data sources and APIs to create dynamic, real-time reports, dashboards, and mapping tools to effectively represent key insights
Create and optimize queries to extract, transform, and aggregate data to be utilized for internal reporting and analysis
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize and evaluate markets/sites
Support scalable land acquisition offers and efforts by implement automated data pipelines
Monitor competitive landscape based on the maintained datasets and update findings
Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices
Support buildout of industry-leading siting methodology and analytical tools
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, applied mathematics or a related field
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
Relevant work experience with ETL processes, data pipeline orchestration, and automation
Familiarity with geospatial datasets, GIS data and mapping applications (or a strong willingness to learn) is preferred
Effective communication skills and excellent collaborative can-do attitude
