Creative Arts Therapist-L III (Part-time)

Job Description

Primary clinical positions provide individual/ group therapy and clinical assessments for patients on our acute Inpatient Psychiatry units. Position includes coverage for inpatient admission assessment, treatment plans clinical progress notes documentation. Develop/ implement daily therapy group programming for a mixture of inpatient units that includes weekend coverage. Engage with patients to provide treatment & positive hospital experience

Provide a variety of therapy sessions that engages patients and provide positive therapeutic patient experience perform required daily group programming that meet the needs of inpatient psychiatric population n inpatient units. Performs required assessments & clinical documentation Perform group & documentation coverage for the inpatient units when needed to maintain adequate group programming and documentation Provide evening & weekend coverage for multiple units as required Able to supervise students/ designated staff Minimum Qualifications

Assignment Level I 1. A valid License or Limited Permit issued by the New York State Education Department to practice as a Creative Arts Therapist. Employees working with a Limited Permit must obtain Licensure within two years from their date of appointment. Assignment Level II 1. A valid License issued by the New York State Education Department to practice as a Creative Arts Therapist; and 2. Two years of full-time, paid, professional experience in creative arts therapy. Assignment Level III In addition to meeting the requirements for Assignment Levels II, Assignment Level III requires: 1. One additional year of experience

Department Preferences

Experience in inpatient psychiatry providing patient centered sessions. Able to conduct wellness sessions effectively with patients
