Must-Have: - Surgical postop experience - Skills in PCA/epidurals, wound dressing care, wound vacs - IV skills, drain/tube management, foley management - Ostomy care, NGT placement/management, small bore placement/management - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - Titration of medication: heparin, insulin, ketamine, Lasix, protonix, Cardizem

Job Description: - Work in a post-surgical recovery unit with patients who have secondary medical issues due to post-surgical recovery. - Care for surgical patients undergoing colo-rectal, vascular, GYN oncology, surgical oncology (whipples), urology, plastics procedures. - Manage medical conditions including wounds from surgeries, amputations, COVID, diabetic ulcers, and diabetic treatment. - Maintain patient ratios: RN Night Shift - 1:8. - May be requested to work in a charge nurse capacity. - Collaborate with a team including a charge nurse, unit secretary, hospitalists, and RT, all available 24/7. - Use centralized telemetry monitoring with tele tech support. - Utilize charting systems and equipment such as EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, GE monitors, and Sapphire epidural pumps. - Perform floating duties across units: Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Department holding, MS overflow, telemetry units, and post-anesthesia care unit surge, with travelers expected to float first. - Participate in a tailored orientation based on experience and comfort level, beginning with a 4-hour new employee orientation. - Follow a structured schedule: weekend rotation every other weekend, with four-week schedules and fixed shifts with no self-scheduling. - Adhere to a fatigue policy limiting work to a maximum of 60 hours in a week or five consecutive 12-hour shifts. - Utilize any color scrubs except camo/denim/hooded options. - Be part of a teamwork-oriented culture with a strong support system and positive atmosphere. Experienced and cohesive night shift nursing staff provide a supportive environment. - Ensure documentation of pain levels before and after administering pain medications, with pain scores aligning with medication orders.
