START DATE: Immediately Position Overview:

The Florence Township School District Transportation Department plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school, as well as for field trips and extracurricular activities. The driver is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment on the bus and adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.

Responsibilities: Operate school buses in compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations. Transport students to and from school, following established routes and schedules. Ensure the safety of all passengers during transit, including assisting students with special needs and maintaining order on the bus. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure its mechanical and operational soundness. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate authorities. Follow established procedures for loading and unloading students, ensuring their safety at all times. Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise during transportation. Participate in training sessions and workshops to maintain and enhance driving and safety skills. Keep accurate records of routes, mileage, and student ridership. Qualifications:

Valid New Jersey Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. Clean driving record and ability to maintain a safe driving history. High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent driving skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with students, parents, and school staff in a courteous and professional manner. Ability to manage student behavior and maintain a safe and orderly bus environment. Physically capable of assisting students with special needs and handling emergency situations if they arise. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to school bus transportation. Flexibility in adapting to changing schedules and needs. Benefits:
