Job Title: Import Coordinator
Company/Industry: Well-established freight forwarder
Locations: Valley Stream, NY
Salary: Commensurate with experience + benefits
Status: Direct hire, FT, On-Site Mon-Fri
Main functions include but are not limited to:
Receive, review and process import documentation (mostly ocean, some air) from overseas agents/customers
Update shipment status, issue arrival notice and obtain entry documents for customs entries. Communicate with customs brokers to confirm customs release status
Arrange freight release with carriers/co-load agents, confirm cargo availability
Respond to customer requests for shipment status by emails, phone calls in a timely manner, referring customer to supervisor/manager when questions are beyond scope of responsibility
Follow up bookings received from overseas agents/customers, open import files and file ISF
Perform any other related tasks as required or assigned by supervisor/manager
Requirements:
Minimum 3-5 years of ocean import experience (A-Z) within freight forwarding industry
Must be able to understand Incoterms
Must have good computer and data entry skills, along with Word, Excel and Outlook
Must be able to work under pressure
Must have Cargowise experience
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $55,000.00 - $75,000.00
