Ocean Export & Import Coordinator

Job Opportunity: Import & Export Specialist Join a High-Paced and Professional Freight Forwarding Team Our client, a well-established freight forwarding company, is seeking a motivated Import & Export Specialist to join their dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, gain comprehensive training, and collaborate across multiple departments within a global network. A supportive and professional work environment. Key responsibilities: Manage and process import and export documentation for assigned accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Collaborate with carriers, customs, brokers, and other agencies to ensure smooth release and delivery of goods. Obtain and create shipment quotes, sourcing the best transportation methods. File ISF & AES as required, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Communicate with overseas agents, shippers, and carriers to issue accurate import/export documentation. Track and trace shipments, providing clients and sales teams with regular updates. Maintain shipment records and ensure accurate billing within set timeframes. Foster strong, professional relationships with transportation agencies, customers, and sales teams. Identify cost-saving opportunities and ways to increase revenue. Act as backup for alternate accounts when needed. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. What You’ll Need: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ocean import/export within the freight forwarding industry. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills. Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet research. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic. A customer service-oriented mindset and commitment to teamwork.
