Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent, associate's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Qualifications: Enthusiastic, friendly, patient focused customer service skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Exemplary communication skills, written and verbal - must be comfortable speaking to patients via phone and successfully communicate pertinent information. Keen eye and exemplary attention to detail. Professional, effective communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team. Must be a team player with ability to collaborate interdepartmentally and with clinical staff. Capacity to multi-task with computer programs while providing patients the highest level of care and attention. Works well in a team environment to accomplish common tasks to solve problems and enhance the smooth and efficient flow of the department.

Experience: At least one-year experience in hospital electronic order and faxed order systems, scheduling, pre-registration, and authorization workflows preferred. Ability to effectively communicate with physician offices to resolve issues regarding physician orders. Proficient in the use of PC's. Current knowledge of Medical Terminology, federal and third-party payer requirements, coding guidelines of procedures, imaging procedures and proper physician orders. Experience with Cerner, Experian, STAR, Excel.

Position Summary
The Order Referral Specialist will be responsible for delivering a dynamic customer experience to all customers and demonstrate a strong commitment to service excellence. Ensure all scripts in WQM are labeled within 15mins of receipt in the system. Advise supervisor of issue scripts/orders that require additional review to help resolve prior to them being archived per JMC policy. Fax Back issues scripts to physician's office 3 times and send letter accordingly prior to archiving orders. Contact physician offices to address any outstanding issue scripts prior to archiving. Monitor script Central tab throughout the day to ensure all orders are moved consistently throughout the workday. Maintains proper documentation in WQM of all steps. Assist with obtaining missing orders from physician offices or patients as needed prior to patients visits. Report system down time to supervisor should orders not be coming in at any point of the day. Works well in a team environment to accomplish common tasks to solve problems and enhance the smooth and efficient flow of the office. Works cooperatively and provides coverage for responsibilities of co-workers when assigned or as need arises. Develops and promotes the use of effective methods of communicating with physicians, managers, peers, trainees, and staff on a regular basis. Maintains the confidentially of patient's records and any related work. Performs other duties as assigned.
