Job Description:
Purpose and Scope:
An Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing various accounting and administrative tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role involves managing financial transactions, maintaining records, and supporting the accounting team with day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities: Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting software or spreadsheets.
- Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Invoice Processing:
- Process and verify invoices for payment.
- Match purchase orders with invoices and ensure proper approvals before processing.
Payment Processing:
- Prepare checks or electronic payments for vendors and employees.
- Reconcile payment transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
Account Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements and internal accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues with account balances.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing financial reports, such as trial balances and financial statements.
- Provide support for periodic financial audits and internal reviews.
Administrative Support:
- Perform general office duties, such as filing, scanning, and organizing financial documents.
- Respond to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding financial matters.
Compliance and Accuracy:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to data protection regulations.

Skills / Other:
- Fluency in both English & Spanish.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong initiative and making suggestions for improving processes.
Job Competency / Qualifications
Education/ Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Technical Requirements:
- Excellent management and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to motivate a team to accomplish objectives.
- Ability to solve conflicts among coworkers.
- Ability to remain organized.
- Basic understanding of records, inventories, and other routine documentation used in the warehouse.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse procedures and regulations.
Experience:
- 2+ experience in accounting or finance roles is advantageous.
- Familiarity with accounting software and basic financial principles.
