QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  2. Appropriate CTE teaching certificate as issued by the State of Arizona to include appropriate vocational certification and endorsements.
  3. Meets North Central Association requirements for subject/grade area assigned.
  4. Have knowledge, skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  1. Utilize, with fidelity, the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
  2. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
  3. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To assist students toward the attainment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation.
  1. Implement by instruction and action the District philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
  2. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; in harmony with the goals, establishes desired student performance objectives for all lessons, units, and projects; communicates these objectives to students.
  3. Assess students to determine whether desired student performance objectives are being achieved.
  4. Plan, after identifying student needs, a program of study.
  5. Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
  6. Diagnose the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis and refers to appropriate specialist where need exists.
  7. Evaluate, conscientiously and fairly, the accomplishments of students and provides progress reports as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
  8. Provide an atmosphere, physical and psychological, conducive to learning.
  9. Maintain accurate permanent academic and attendance records for students.
  10. Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
  11. Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Governing Board Policy.
  12. Attend and participates in general faculty and department meetings.
  13. Cooperate with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  14. Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional equipment.
  15. Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
  16. Maintain and improve professional competence.
  17. Maintain active and harmonious involvement in community affairs.
  18. Perform other reasonable duties as may be directed by the Principal.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
  1. The teacher demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum, subject content, and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences.
  2. The teacher plans using the state's standards, the school's curriculum, data, and engaging and appropriate strategies and resources to meet the needs of all students.
  3. The teacher uses a variety of research-based instructional strategies relevant to the content area to engage students in active learning, to promote key skills, and to meet individual learning needs.
  4. The teacher systematically gathers, analyzes, and uses relevant data to measure student progress, guide instructional content and delivery methods, and provide timely feedback to students, parents, and stakeholders.
  5. The teacher uses resources, routines, and procedures to provide a respectful, positive, safe, student-centered environment that is conducive to learning.
  6. The teacher maintains a commitment to professional ethics, collaborates and communicates appropriately, and takes responsibility for personal professional growth that results in the enhancement of student learning.
  7. The work of the teacher results in acceptable, measurable, and appropriate student progress.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The Classroom Teacher reports to the site administrator. The Classroom Teacher will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
VIEW TEACHER INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN- Prorated for 3 class periods/per day
WORK YEAR: 9 Month Contract - 3 classes per day
