We are moving our headquarters to Eagan in 2025! This role is based at our current HQ in Bloomington but will move to Eagan in 2025.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Development 2 role is responsible for collaborating with the Business Development and Estimating teams to assist in the successful planning and facilitation of a project from sale to kick off as well as interface with internal and external customers throughout the life cycle of a project.

Review project proposals to determine Hunt’s project scope and responsibilities.

Secure projects while recognizing commitment to quality workmanship, positive industry image and customer satisfaction.

Execute the estimating plan/strategy which includes providing accurate estimates of labor, materials, and administrative costs for assigned projects.

Interface with Designers, Project Managers, and others to resolve issues throughout the project.

Determine the customer’s needs and interpret their definition of a successful project.

Prepare, process, and maintain all files, correspondence, schedules, reports, and quotations necessary to perform the responsibilities of the contract.

Participate and/or facilitate project planning and follow up meetings throughout the project life cycle.

Participate & present in committee and department meetings.

Develop relationships with vendors

Facilitate the estimating kickoff meetings.

Verify the estimator check list has been completed.

Participate in pre-bid bid and final bid reviews with the Estimating team.

Attend on and off-site customer/client meetings and events.

Develop and maintain customer relationships to secure future business by attending on and off-site meetings and events.

Collaborate with Marketing, Business Development and Estimating teams to prepare project proposals.

Maintain and develop new customer relationships to secure future business in the commercial and industrial markets.

Participate in the interview process and responds to customer questions.

$110,000-$155,000 + discretionary bonus + employee ownership + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent.

Associates degree in electrical construction, construction management, electrical engineering, or similar discipline preferred.

5+ years of experience working in the electrical construction industry.

3+ years of experience working as a Salesperson and/or Project Manager in the electrical construction industry.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, sales tactics, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and the coordination of manpower and resources.

Strong computerized estimating skills using Enterprise or similar software.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe/Bluebeam.

Experience with conceptual estimating, low voltage systems estimating, design/build estimating.

Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish the goals.

Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective problem solving and time management skills.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize to manage workload and meet deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operates at a construction job site and is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and noise, possibly requiring closed toed shoes, as well as occasional use of a hard hat and eye protection.

This position also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.

Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.

This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.

This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
