Position Summary:

Our Global Supply Chain Management team is offering a pivotal role on our diverse and dynamic team where you will have the opportunity to perform all related Supply Chain requirements including supplier development, requirement solicitations, PO award, post-award management, and close-out activities. You will also have the opportunity to work in an energetic, collaborative growth-oriented environment in support of the Barber Nichols turbo machinery solutions group providing engineering, development and production procurement support for multiple product areas. You will be an integral part of a high performing team developing and delivering advanced products and solutions to support our customers. You will be a catalyst for effective strategic sourcing and supplier management in alignment with program objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage front-end of the business, requirements definition and planning, and sourcing strategies for procurements in support of the integrated program teams:
  • Partner with business development to support proposal activities and material cost and lead time estimates.
  • Partner with integrated programs teams to develop and define procurement requirements and develop executable procurement plans based on the Bill of Materials.
  • Lead supplier assessments, sourcing strategies, and supply chain proposal activities.
  • Manage source selection, purchase order placement and supplier performance execution in support of the integrated program teams.
  • Prepare all aspects of procurement solicitations, including terms and conditions, customer contract flowdown requirements, scope of work and other requirements.
  • Place orders for both direct and indirect spend.
  • Develop and negotiate "win-win" solutions with suppliers to support program cost and schedule objectives.
  • Ensure suppliers receive contractual authority to perform work in a timely manner in accordance with Barber Nichols procurement compliance guidelines and Public Law.
  • Coordinate all Barber Nichols or customer furnished material requirements with suppliers and associated inventory and property control processes.
  • Maintain and manage qualified and preferred supplier certifications, representations and associated performance attributes
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and proactively engage with suppliers to ensure schedule, technical and quality requirements are achieved.
  • Coordinate supplier return authorizations throughout the entire value stream.
  • Proactively engage members of the integrated programs teams and supply chain leadership throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Engage supplier quality as needed to ensure timely identification and resolution of supplier corrective and preventative action requests.
  • Engage engineering and program office to identify critical / long lead material requirements pre-manufacturing hand-off and when required proactively initiate procurement process.
  • Engage program office to establish material budget baselines and monitor negotiated procurement contract values to baseline.
  • Provide information to program office and supply chain leadership, as needed, to support internal and external reviews
Requirements

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required.

Education and Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or similar, and/or equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience.
Experience:
  • Four years' of purchasing experience in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment and preferably experience working in the DoD and Related Aerospace & Defense industry.
  • Demonstrated work experience with Supply Chain processes and related systems.
Skills:

  • Experience with Federal and Defense Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)
  • Experience with written contractual authorization/vehicles (Cost Plus, Firm Fixed Price etc.)
  • Analysis of Cost and Pricing Data and determining proposal compliance (FAR 15.4)
  • Familiarity with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Experience with industry standardized quality management systems (ISO9001 / AS9100 / NADCAP)
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project) to generate reports, executive level briefings and generally support job performance..
  • Thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, shipping/receiving.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000. This range represent the anticipated minimum and maximum base + bonus for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant's qualifications (education, training and/or experience related to this role), and therefore, may fall outside the range shown, depending on the circumstances.
