These hybrid positions (two days in-office) play a pivotal part in supporting their employees through expert management of Workers' Compensation, disability accommodations, and compliance with ADAAA, FEHA, FMLA, and related laws. Description: What you'll be doing As the Leaves Analyst, you will be responsible for the Workers' Compensation benefits for injured employees. In partnership with the unit supervisor, you will manage an assigned caseload of routine to moderately complex claims from the investigation of the claim through resolution; this includes making decisions about liability/compensability, evaluating losses, and negotiating settlements. You will demonstrate subject matter expertise with ADAAA, FEHA, FMLA, CFRA, CAPDLL and knowledge of Labor Code 132a. What you will be doing: Manage an assigned caseload of routine to moderately complex claims from the investigation of the claim through resolution; this includes making decisions about liability/compensability, evaluating losses, and negotiating settlements. Establishes action plan based on case facts, best practices, protocols, regulatory issues, and available resources. Review the appropriate treatment and ensure that treatment is prompt and adequate by collaborating with physicians and our industrial clinic. Establish and innovate systems and procedures to organize the workers' compensation program including records management. Comply with HIPAA and Confidentiality Policies and Procedures as they apply to the job. Comply with Department of Public Health (DPH), The Joint Commission and other accreditation and regulatory agencies standards. Adhere to all Hospital Policies and Procedures. Adhere to Infection Control and Environment of Care Guidelines and Procedures as they are described in the annual education module. Protect employee confidentiality. Complete health and safety requirements per unit policy. Maintain professional appearance and behavior. Observe institutional standards and requirements in fulfilling work schedule commitments. Report to supervising authority, giving destination when leaving unit for any period of time. Adhere to organizational interpersonal standards. Adhere to Attendance Standards including hours of work. Support that telephone and computer usage is for business work only. Accept delegated duties from supervisor or appropriate person to accomplish job duties. Participate in work-related meetings and/or represent unit on task forces/committees/projects requested. Demonstrates pattern of performing work correctly the first time. Continually strives to improve outcomes. Actively collaborates with co-workers to improve systems and/or operations. Considers options, and demonstrates ability to independently identify and resolve routine/potential problems within scope of responsibilities. What we'd like to see from you: Bachelor's degree in business, social sciences, or related field preferred. 3-5 years of workers' compensation experience, case law, directives, policies, and legislation. Workers' Compensation Claims Certification, desired. Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and organizational skills. Proven relationship management skills required to effectively partner with staff at all levels of the organization. Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills. Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and problem resolution. Exceptional attention to detail and delivery of world-class service. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Highly professional and strong interpersonal skills. Maintains confidential information with great candor. Intellectually curious and self-directed learner.
