IT Systems Engineer

SUMMARY
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage, maintain, and optimize our complex IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure, ensuring our systems perform optimally, securely, and reliably. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to support business operations and drive technological improvements, including managing existing virtualization infrastructure and exploring future migration strategies to modern solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and maintain Microsoft Windows domain, servers, and cloud infrastructure (including AWS and Azure environments) Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, configuration, and interoperability issues that require direct experience with OS Support (Windows, Linux), VMWare, AWS, and networking. Oversee system auditing and compliance processes Administer and optimize our Microsoft 365 environment Develop and maintain laptop imaging and provisioning processes Implement and manage patch management strategies Oversee Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions Windows Server Administration (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Polices) Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions Monitor and optimize application performance and security Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members Manage and maintain existing on-premises VMWare virtualization platforms Assist in planning and executing migrations from legacy systems to modern infrastructure solutions

Some out-of-area and overnight travel will be expected.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 7 years of experience in IT systems engineering roles Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and domain management Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) Deep understanding of networking protocols and configurations (WAN/LAN Proficiency in managing Microsoft 365 services Experience with system auditing and compliance tools Knowledge of patch management best practices and tools Familiarity with MDM solutions and implementation Windows Server Administration (AD, DNS, DHCP) Experience with backup and recovery solutions Knowledge of application performance monitoring and security tools Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Effective communication and team collaboration abilities Experience with virtualization technologies and hypervisor management Knowledge of virtual machine management, migration, and optimization techniques
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant industry certifications in cloud, systems administration, and virtualization technologies Additional experience with cloud data services and advanced cloud infrastructure strategies would be advantageous. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies Experience in planning and executing migrations from on-premises to cloud environments
