in our Downers Grove, IL Corporate Office.

What you'll do: Formulate, source and specify materials for plastic and metal food closures. Work with vendors to develop and specify new materials. Organize and run materials projects from conception to production. Provide technical support for project teams. Design experiments and run both pilot trials and manufacturing trials. Analyze chemical data including FTIR, GC, DSC, TMA and rheology in order to develop relationships between material properties and closure performance. Assist in customer and manufacturing problem analysis. Travel to manufacturing plants, vendors and customer locations in support of trials and approvals for both new and existing materials. Write comprehensive reports. Provide support for regulatory compliance. You'll love it here if you: Like to develop and specify materials for steel, plastic and aluminum closures. Like to manage material projects from conception to production. Like to run pilot lab and manufacturing trials and provide customer/manufacturing technical support. What you'll need to have: Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials, chemistry or related field. Minimum 5 years of related experience. Computer literate - specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of plastics and polymers/formulations/processing/testing. Project management experience. Ability to travel up to 30%. Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of formulation and performance of metal coatings. Knowledge of rheological and thermal analysis. Knowledge of regulatory compliance for food packing materials. Master's degree in related field. Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE).
