Position Summary This role includes performing electrical engineering technical work on complex projects, applying proficiency in designing, analyzing, and reviewing MEP systems to ensure safety, sustainability, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, technical knowledge to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Essential Functions As an Electrical Engineer at Woolpert, you will: Perform electrical engineering technical work for complex projects. Participate in progress meetings to discuss scope, schedule, and fee. Develop and modify models, plans, details, and drawings of electrical engineering systems and components according to established standards and modeling techniques. Perform electrical design for various systems including medium-voltage distribution, microgrids, photovoltaic, battery systems, building power systems, lighting design, and low voltage systems. Perform electrical calculations including SKM analysis, arc flash, and photometric calculations (AGI or Elumtools preferred). Work with leadership and participate in training to advance your career and technical skills. Leadership & Project Management At Woolpert you will use your leadership and project management skills to: Work with team members and cross-discipline groups. Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with others and focus on innovation, excellence, and creativity. Ensure project deliverables and tasks are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Deliver presentations and project updates at team meetings. BA/BS or MA/MS in related field and ten (10) years related experience. Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required. Experience in building power systems, lighting design, medium-voltage distribution, SKM analysis, and photometric calculations (AGI or Elumtools preferred). Experience designing sustainable building systems, including familiarity with LEED, Green Building Institute, or other sustainability credentialing. Effective presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Verbal and written communication abilities for both internal and external relationships. Experience with discipline related software applications and calculation tools. Experience designing in Autodesk Revit 3-D modeling software and the preparation of construction documents. Involvement in QAQC and coordination of design documents between disciplines. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents including scientific and technical journals, handbooks, and industry information. Proficient in use of MS Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, and MS Office suite. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community. Able to write technical opinions, articles, and thought leadership social media using original or innovative techniques or style. Mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position. Willing to travel to project sites or offices, as needed.
