Position Summary This position is responsible for leading engineering projects, supporting strategic and KPI goals, contributing to proposals, overseeing project scope, schedule, and fee, and ensuring effective resources are assigned to projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This role includes performing electrical engineering technical work on complex projects, mentoring staff, applying proficiency in designing, analyzing, and reviewing MEP systems to ensure safety, sustainability, and compliance with industry standards. Essential Functions As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Woolpert, you will: Lead electrical engineering technical work for complex projects. Track project progress, including scope, schedule, and fee. Oversee technical review and provide high-quality deliverables. Develop and modify models, plans, details, and drawings of electrical engineering systems and components according to established standards and modeling techniques. Perform electrical design for various systems including medium-voltage distribution, microgrids, photovoltaic, battery systems, building power systems, lighting design, and low voltage systems. Perform electrical calculations including SKM analysis, arc flash, and photometric calculations (AGI or Elumtools preferred). Support career development and technical skill advancement of team members. Leadership & Project Management At Woolpert you will use your leadership and project management skills to: Motivate and inspire team members. Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Foster a collaborative team culture with a focus on innovation and excellence. Manage project and staffing plans, adjusting them as necessary to meet changing project needs. Oversee engineering project phases from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Serve as a technical expert and discipline representative at various meetings and events as required. Deliver presentations at conferences, networking events, and professional organizations. Conduct training sessions for internal employees when necessary. BA/BS or MA/MS in related field and fifteen (15) years related experience. Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required. Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading engineering projects. Experience in building power systems, lighting design, medium-voltage distribution, SKM analysis, and photometric calculations (AGI or Elumtools preferred). Experience with aviation, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, high-rise, industrial, and Federal design preferred. Experience designing sustainable building systems, including familiarity with LEED, Green Building Institute, or other sustainability credentialing. Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Expert verbal and written communication abilities. Experience with discipline related software applications and calculation tools. Substantial experience designing in Autodesk Revit 3-D modeling software. Experience conducting and leading QAQC and coordination of design documents between disciplines. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Proficient in use of MS Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, and MS Office suite. Ability to provide effective responses to sensitive inquiries from clients. Able to write technical opinions, articles, and thought leadership social media. Mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position. Willing to travel to project sites or offices, as needed.
