VICE PRESIDENT OF CONSTRUCTION ABOUT THE POSITION:

Renier Construction is seeking a

Vice President of Construction

to oversee and elevate the construction operations of two divisions – Renier Custom and Renier Services. This role requires strategic vision, operational expertise, and the ability to foster high-performing teams. As Vice President of Construction, you will lead multiple project portfolios, mentor teams, and collaborate with the Leadership Team to implement innovative strategies and process improvements. Primary Function Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all Renier Custom and Renier Services construction projects, ensuring exceptional execution, profitability, and client satisfaction. Key Roles and Responsibilities Operational Leadership and Project Oversight

Lead multiple project portfolios (Renier Custom, Renier Services, Service and Maintenance, and Warranty divisions). Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest quality and safety standards. Hold General Managers accountable for project planning, schedule adherence, financial performance, and client satisfaction. Implement proactive risk management strategies and recovery plans for underperforming projects.

Strategic Planning and Process Improvement

Collaborate with the Leadership Team to develop and execute strategies that enhance operational efficiency, profitability, and project outcomes. Promote and integrate Lean Construction practices across all project teams to minimize waste and improve productivity. Identify operational shortcomings and implement solutions aligned with Renier’s strategic vision.

Team Leadership and Development

Mentor, train, and coach General Managers, Project Managers, and teams to develop their skills and leadership potential. Conduct annual performance reviews and create individualized growth plans to maximize team capabilities. Blend resources to build strong project teams and foster a positive team culture.

Client and Relationship Management

Build and strengthen partnerships with both existing and new clients, ensuring loyal, repeat business and long-term opportunities. Act as a trusted advisor during project planning and execution, addressing challenges and presenting solutions. Represent Renier at client meetings, community events, and industry associations to enhance the company’s reputation and visibility.

Financial Accountability and Results

Oversee monthly cost reporting and forecasting to ensure financial goals and profitability targets are achieved. Optimize resource allocation and cost control strategies across all project portfolios. Monitor subcontractor performance and contract adherence to align with project objectives.

Culture and Core Values Implementation

Lead by example, instilling Renier’s Core Values into every project and team interaction. Set expectations for professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement. Promote clean, efficient, and respectful work practices, particularly in occupied spaces.

Skills and Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of related experience, including previous leadership experience. College degree is a plus. Excellent communication and team-building skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management software. Valid driver's license and a good driving record. Reporting Structure Reports to: President/CEO Collaborates with: Leadership Team, Project Executives, VP of Preconstruction, VP of Operations, Project Managers, and the Operations Team.
