Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Manager, IT (Service Architect) for the Office of Information Technology (OIT). The Manager will lead the Network Architecture team with architecture and delivery of critical technologies including Domain Name Service (DNS), Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP), IP Address Management (IPAM), Network Monitoring, Network Automation, Data Visualization, Data Discovery, Data Auditing, and technology capital management. This position will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing these services to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability across our infrastructure. Network Operations and Architecture (NOA), part of the Office of Information Technology Enterprise Infrastructure, is responsible for research and development of data networking at Rutgers University. The team provides services including campus routing/switching, network monitoring, inter-campus connectivity, WAN site connectivity, Internet/Internet2 connectivity and Research Networking engagement. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Manages systems and services providing critical network services such as DNS, DHCP, network monitoring and alerting. Scales and evolves systems sustainably, through automation, advocating for changes that improve reliability and agility. Engages in and improves the lifecycle for both service delivery infrastructure and its supporting services. Maintains, monitors and improves systems and services for NOA and Enterprise Infrastructure. Shares and disseminates knowledge among other staff and researchers. Position Status:

Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent education and experience. Plus seven (7) years of experience in telecommunications networking and computing. Certifications/Licenses: Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level architectures for DNS, DHCP, IPAM, Network Monitoring, Network Automation, Data Visualization, and related technologies. Expertise in network automation tools such as Python, Nornir, and NetDevOps frameworks. Strong understanding of data visualization tools and techniques, particularly Grafana. Experience in data discovery and auditing methodologies. In-depth knowledge of technology capital management practices, including lifecycle management and financial planning. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, stakeholders, and senior management. Preferred Qualifications: Nine (9) years of experience working in the telecommunications, networking and/or computing industry. Industry certifications including but not limited to CCNP/CCIE with concentrations in Security, CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, and Infoblox accreditation for DDI, NetMRI and/or DNSSEC. Equipment Utilized: Linux and Windows desktops and servers LibreNMS network monitoring suite Infoblox NIOS Trinzic NetMRI Splunk OpsGenie Python/PERL REST & SOAP APIs (vendor dependent) SNMP, NETCONF, RESTCONF device management frameworks Physical Demands and Work Environment: This individual spends time working in a standard office environment and in the field, providing support for IT equipment and infrastructure. The office environment is standard; however, the field environments vary from site to site. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, twist, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand, regularly lift, carry, push, pull, and move up to 75 pounds.
