The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is Rutgers' enterprise IT office. OIT provides university wide services and support and collaborates with department and unit IT professionals on projects and initiatives for the Rutgers community. OIT's services and systems include the Rutgers network; email and calendaring systems; IDs/passwords and identity management; data centers; computer labs; help desk support; wireless connectivity; a software portal; information security, risk, and compliance services; research computing; and many others. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Application Developer III for the Office of Information Technology. The role is under the direction of a Project Manager for Enterprise Application Services (EAS).
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Provides analytical and programming support for various University administrative and academic offices. Responsible for analysis, planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of legacy Mainframe application system resources (Enterprise COBOL, IMS TM, JCL MVS/OS Utilities,SQL).

Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus seven (7) years progressive experience in an analytical and programming environment with an emphasis on business knowledge acquisition, systems design, and COBOL. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements. Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong Enterprise COBOL programming techniques. IMS TM. JCL. MVS / OS Utilities. Knowledge of mainframe legacy system integration with ORACLE. Structured programming techniques. SQL. Ability to understand complex legacy computer systems. Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Proficient knowledge of JCL, MVS / OS utilities, SQL and IMS TM programming skills are required.
