Overview
UW Credit Union is hiring a Capital Markets Analyst who will serve as the primary contact for managing the organization's mortgage pipeline hedging program. Responsibilities include daily rate setting, vigilant monitoring of pipeline activity including hedge positions, and assigning contracts for loan delivery. This role involves conducting research and analysis to provide management with essential financial data, for setting and achieving profit and strategic objectives. The analyst will identify industry best practices in technology and operational processes, work within the Asset Liability Modeling environment in a backup role, and prepare both scheduled and special financial reports. Additionally, the position supports third-party examinations and prepares product, divisional and member profitability reports. The role also involves conducting various studies, analyses, and research of financial and statistical information for the Credit Union. Utilizing a variety of analytic methods, tools, visualizations, and modeling techniques, the analyst will deliver the insights to key stakeholders and the organization. The Capital Markets Analyst will work in coordination with outside partners as well as internal partners to facilitate solution development for the organization.
ResponsibilitiesMortgage Pipeline Hedging and Secondary Marketing Activities
- Responsible for daily hedging of UWCU's mortgage pipeline with minimal supervision from the Treasury Director.
- Determine and publish UWCU's daily mortgage rate updates, maintaining and updating key secondary marketing systems.
- Develop and maintain pricing sheets used by Mortgage Loan Officers to accurately price loans.
Support the Development and Maintenance of the Credit Union's Investment and Asset Liability Management (ALM) Functions
- Assist with the maintenance of the ALM model and forecasts to ensure accuracy.
- Summarize and present likely financial outcomes to varying levels of management, including ALCO members and the CEO.
- Periodically attend ALCO and Funds Management Committee meetings.
Reporting, Financial Analysis, and Solution Development
- Create and distribute reports providing thorough financial analysis to upper management on market competition, secondary market pricing, loan exceptions, and other notable trends and observations.
- Leverage knowledge and skill with various data analytic tools to create and maintain powerful visualizations and models.
- Identify impactful solutions to business problems.
- Validate all work through reasonability checks, comparisons to historical results and benchmarks, and end-user validation processes.
- Bachelors degree in accounting, economics, finance or related degree.
- 2-3 year experience as a financial or treasury analyst.
- Organization, analysis, and modeling of multiple data sources.
- Development of data visualizations, dashboards, KPI's, etc.
- Technical skills (e.g. Excel, VBA, DAX, PowerBI, Python, SQL) for data calibration and model development.
- Salary midpoint: $75,400
