Overview
UW Credit Union's is hiring an Investment Analyst to join its Treasury department. The Investment Analyst is responsible for the production of timely, reliable investment information and related reporting. This position engages in conducting research and analysis to provide definitive financial and investment data for their use in setting and realizing profit, risk, and strategic objectives.
The Investment Analyst will identify best practices in technology and operational processes, work within the Asset Liability Modeling environment and will utilize the model to continually enhance the liquidity framework. Additionally, the Investment Analyst will review counterparties and credit sensitive investments with the intent to identify and assess risk levels and determine a corresponding level of comfort. This position also prepares product, divisional, and member profitability reports for management as well as various studies, analyses, and research of financial and statistical information

ResponsibilitiesSupport the development and maintenance of the liquidity framework within the ALM environment
- Responsible for the maintenance, updating and reporting of the ALM liquidity framework.
- Monitors and tracks 30-day liquidity forecast and operational cash target.
- Ability to research options and maximize collateral and liquidity relationships (i.e FNMA, FHLB, CLF, brokered cd's).
- Provide maintenance and current reporting on assets pledged, borrowings, and lines of credit.
Investments
- Collaborates with the Treasury Director with analysis and documentation for investment related transactions.
- Performs due diligence and/or credit research on investment brokers, corporate bond issuers, liquidity providers, and other counterparties.
- Reviews corporate bond issuer financials and evaluates risks pertaining to credit ratings.
Reporting, Financial Analysis, and Solution Development
- Conducts analysis and prepares reports pertaining to pricing strategies for both loans and deposits.
- Create and maintain powerful visualization and models that integrate data-driven business opportunities.
- Capacity to work with complex data sets, identify trends and patterns, and make data-driven recommendations.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Supports the organizational critical measures.
- Participates in ongoing cross training on ALM and mortgage hedging.
- Acts as the relationship liaison between internal (i.e. Accounting) and external partners (i.e. Broker-dealers).
- Serves as a backup to the Treasury Risk Analyst and Capital Markets Analyst.
- 2-3 years of financial or treasury analyst experience.
- Bachelors degree in accounting, economics, finance or related degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CFA, FRM, or other related designations or progress toward completion preferred.
- Experience with development of data visualizations, dashboards, KPI's, etc. utilizing varies tools and technologies (e.g. Excel, VBA, DAX, PowerBI, SQL)
- Experience with ZM Desk software or similar interest rate risk modeling software, Secondary Interactive mortgage pipeline hedging system, Encompass, general ledger, Bloomberg, and Microsoft products. Experience with a banking core system is beneficial.
- Able to work with a large degree of independence, assumes responsibility for job development and training, researches and resolves questions and problems, requests leadership input and keeps leadership informed.
