Reporting to the Senior Director of Academic Programs in Enrollment Management, the Director of the ISSP will assume total responsibility for and leadership of the growing academic support programs in the ISSP. In the past three years the ISSP has acquired oversight for the institutionalization of the Title V Supplemental Instruction Program and the implementation of the new Academic Coaching Program. These changes have resulted in the ISSP increasing the number of students served by 23%.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversight for and supervision of the PT professional coordinators for ISSP's two new programs - Supplemental Instruction and Academic Coaching.
- Launch new academic support modalities and technologies (including expanding online academic support services) that increase access and delivery of program services to students.
- Institute and plan for support of the College's burgeoning graduate programs (including doctorate in Nursing).
- Develop targeted support services for special programs including the Freshman College, Adult Degree and international students.
- Facilitate and oversee the implementation of the Program's strategic plan, which supports the College's and the University's strategic goals, including goals supporting student success, retention, and graduation initiatives.
- Direct the comprehensive assessment and evaluation plan for the Program to ensure attainment of strategic plan goals, including developing assessments to measure the ISSP's contribution to student academic success and retention, student satisfaction, service usage, and program efficiencies.
- Coordinate collaborative activities with campus stakeholders to support services for students across majors.
- Strategically manage the Program's three budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines as well as deployment of resources to maximize budget allocation.
- Responsible for ensuring the program maintains and renews its 5-year national program certification, and applies for other national certifications for the program and its staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience required.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
- Directs curriculum development and operations of a learning resource center.
- Designs, implements, and monitors a comprehensive student support program based on targeted academic resources such as tutoring, remedial and/or other related support services.
- Administers all curricular, administrative, and financial aspects of the center; oversees design and delivery of various programs sponsored by the center.
- Performs outcomes assessment and creates strategic plan to further develop center offerings.
- Ensures ongoing faculty and staff development to support high-quality student services delivery; promotes best practices in the field.
- Manages annual budget; develops proposals and other initiatives for expanded center funding.
- Cultivates and maintains strategic partnerships; serves as primary liaison to faculty and administrators to plan and execute center activities.
- Manages professional, instructional, and clerical staff.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with education and experience, $129,310.
