Controls Engineer

We are hiring for Systems Engineer in the Richmond, VA area, working for a growing systems integration firm. This is full time position, starting as contract, expected to go permanent within 6 months of start date. ABILITY TO WORK 100% from home in Richmond, VA area. Hourly pay range $40-$50/HR, (relevant to experience and education), plus OT and approved travel expenses. Once you are a direct employee of the company, base salary range estimated at $80-$110K, + up to $3,000 relocation package available and Annual bonuses of $4,000-$8,000K. Job description: Engineering and implementing real-time automation controls and information solutions. Conceptualizing during the design phase of the project life cycle. System programming, debugging, and testing. Creating documentation, including project engineering notes, project proposals, project design traceability documentation, case studies, and more. Commissioning new solutions at client sites; finding opportunities for improvements. Be flexible with LOCAL travel, which can be expected to range up to 50%. (Will return home everyday) Required: 3 Years of PLC and PAC Programming Platform Experience: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley/Siemens Modicon, GE etc. and/or a combination of the following working for a Systems Integrator or manufacturing consultant: HMI Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Wonderware, Schneider Electric, etc. SCADA Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Inductive Automation, Wonderware, GE, Siemens, etc. Servo Motion Control: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Emerson, Omron, etc. Preferred: Food and beverage or life sciences industry experience Successful or upcoming completion of Associates or B.Sc. Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related 2 to 4 year Engineering Technology degree.
