SENIOR KITCHEN LEADER:

Reporting to the Executive Culinary Leader, the Senior Kitchen Leader will be responsible for leading a team and maintaining food quality, consistency, inventory, and cost.

WHAT'S ON YOUR PLATE:

Culinary Leadership:
  • Actively participating in service, exemplifying standards, while providing hands-on coaching and quality control oversight
  • Overseeing product preparation, presentation, and service to ensure adherence to restaurant standards
  • Helping to achieve profitability goals by managing food, waste and labor costs and controllable expenses, conducting inventory counts, monitoring invoice and receiving procedures
  • Ensuring accuracy of production and recipe execution as well as monitoring purchasing activity

Business Operations:

  • Overseeing kitchen inventory and purchasing, ensuring sufficient stock to complete daily production
  • Reviewing all daily and weekly reports (e.g., actual vs. projected report, production sheets, inventory/invoices, daily detailed labor report) and communicating results to leadership
  • Conducting walk-throughs during each shift to monitor each station’s product quality, the status of production, ingredient supply and to ensure each station is fully set up for the day’s service
  • Operating and maintaining the working order of all equipment in the kitchen
  • Responsible for operating within all health, safety and hygiene regulations and standards per the department of health
  • Facilitating repairs, maintenance and preventative upkeep for the building, facility, and grounds
  • Serving as a point of contact for FOH Team Members to resolve guest questions and concerns

People Operations:

  • Communicating with Team Members and other managers/chefs to plan and setting expectations for the shift
  • Training and supervising culinary team members’ skills and techniques
  • Executing staff schedules; ensuring that all stations are appropriately staffed for the shift
  • Conducting uniform and line checks at the start of and throughout each shift
  • Ensuring that all team members are compliant with Company’s policies and procedures, as well as city, state, and federal laws
  • Performing various human resource functions, including Kitchen Team performance evaluations, corrective action, and terminations

INGREDIENTS YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE:


  • A track record of progressive sophisticated-casual restaurant experience, with at least 1-2 years of experience in a culinary leadership role in a comparable, fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Ironclad integrity, sound decision making ability, and analytical mindset

  • Ability to motivate others and inspire a positive team environment

  • A strong attention for detail and commitment to upholding high standards

  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal

  • Passion for and knowledge of plant-based ingredients preferred, but we're happy to show you the way!

  • Ability to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, per the needs of the business

  • Fluency in written and spoken English

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, culinary management, or similar subject preferred

  • Ability to utilize computer programs such as Gmail, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), ADP, and any additional systems to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
